Steering Wheel (again)!
Discussion
I going to buy a nice Q/R steering wheel soon. Have decided on a Racetech one (I think!). When ordering the boss, it has options for the hole size and slug size. I assume the hole size is the size of the splined end of the column, but what is the slug size? Also, when it is fitted, does it make the wheel further away from the dash, or is it the same as a standard wheel and boss?

The slug size is the diameter of your existing column or as close as you can get to it.
>>does it make the wheel further away from the dash, or is it the same as a standard wheel and boss?
Depends where you cut the existing column for the weld to be made.

Adam,
I ordered RTQ2 for mine (standard Westfield / Allegro upper column), which should be what you want. As Graham said, the positioning of it depends on where you cut the column, so work out where you want the wheel and make the appropropriate cut.
I would underline that it is definitely something that you should get professionally welded (and if possible get it pinned as well as welded) - it's quite a fundamental safety part!
