Anyone no anything about a Panther Kallister?
Discussion
I cant tell you a huge deal more, but my dad looked at buying one new in 1988 and they were a bargain new compared to the used price. They had the Ford 2.8i then 2.9i unit like the S and retailed at the NEC show for £9995 on the road !
they have held there price really well.
I like it back then & still do but they are a little cramped & probably have water-tight issues.
As with any hand finnished cars of this age, it'll be down to condition & chasis rot. They were similar to the 's' in as much as used various manufacturer part bins to create the car & so parts are available in one form or another.
I would suspect they dont handle as well as the S, and probably arn't as quick either.
Hope this helps

hmm .. had the dubious honour of working on a few Kallistas at HHC . they're awful. supposedly an evolution from the vauxhall engined lima. first ones were alloy, later fibreglass. Live rear axle poorly located, ride appaulling and handling lethal (really!). Performce even in 2.9 form strangely lacking also. Interior makes a Morgan look good !! avoid at all costs is my advice ...
I had a nosy at them (well i looked at everything from S's to fiat spiders...
Personally, i love the shape, but i am weird
Its alloy over fiberglass wadding, to help stop the panels denting, most of it is Ford parts bin.
Inside looks ok, but its cramped, leg room is ok, a massive streering wheel and like roy said, you really need to have the window open to drive comfatably
I drove 2, one was terible, the other was alright.
I cant comment on the build quality, but the nice one seamed pretty good, allowing for the age of the car it was very nice (probably nicer than the S's that i have looked at).
Speedwise its not as quick as an S which suprised me, but they do sound MUCH nicer which suprised me even more!
Imho, it rides like you would expect - like a big old car, its not an elise and not a S its got more in common (drive wise) with a 60's sports car...
Fun in its own slow pondering way, more a picnick car if you know what i mean.
The only problem for me, was that i could never imagine driving one "fast"...

“Id be interested, if you could scan it many tanks would be given”
No problem I’ll see what I can do, as I said it might take me a few days though the magazines are stored somewhere in my loft!! Tanks are not required though a few rockets would do, best way to get numpties out the way!!
