250 California rep. - Calspyder - Modena Design 250

Afternoon all, I was wondering if anyone knew the whereabouts or had experience of any of these in the UK? Apparently there are a few.
Yes it is the Ferris Bueller car.
I harbour a long-held desire to build/own one, but I would like to see one in the flesh before flying out to the US just to have a look.
I know the company has recently undergone an overhaul with a cash injection from Mike Renucci and is now called "Classic Cars by Renucci" or similar, but there isn't much "out there" on these cars.
Anyone? Anyone....?

Thanks, I saw the red one go on ebay a couple of years ago now.
Looks good in silver hmmm!
I had email contact last year with them and they seemed to be very busy, I was sent the latest prices etc but have to admit I was suspicious of the lack of web presence. Shame.
Thanks for the info!

Hi, I am keen to own one and was just interested to hear about ownership experience, including ease of build, opinions on quality (from memory a picture of the chassis showed a peculiar section removed just where I guess the gear stick will be, it looked to me like it would create a weak spot in the chassis?? But I'm no Colin Chapman).
I would also like to know how usable the car is, I would like to use mine most days, so being water-tight and having an effective heater would help!
Any info, pics or advice you can offer would be most welcome, I'd love to look over one in the flesh but I think there's only a couple in the UK and I've yet to find one!!

I'm in the UK and I own one of the original Mark Goyette (Modena Design & Development )Cars who built the cars for the Ferris Bueller film.
I believe mine was one of the first made it was built in California by the president of a replica car club that knew Goyette.
I've owned it for 4 years since importing it from Florida.
To be honest been thinking about selling so if your interested get in touch.

To JCJC and UNOBSERVED
I am interested to hear about both your cars as I am looking to buy a 250GT California replica. I have just finished building a Factory Five AC Cobra and I am keen to get my hands on a Ferrari 250 GT California like the one in "Ferris Buellers Day off".
As I am a new member on here I cant e-mail you directly yet, but would appreciate you responding to this link as soon as possible.
Regards

Just a heads-up to clarify that rumours of their demise were premature....
