Just got back from the Dax open day in Harlow, which was well worth a visit. Lots of Tojeiro and Rush owners turned up, as well as a couple of Kamala's. Dax had various chassis for both cars on display in various states of build. You could also have a wander round the factory checking out the moulds etc. The Dax folks had laid on Teas and Coffees and food and were on hand for a chat - they're nice people, its good to see them apparently doing well.

Only problem is I now want to build another Tojeiro! Using the new chassis that they had on display with clever camber compensating front suspension and rear De Dion suspension. Think it uses Jag XJ40 sourced bits. Dax were showing it with a 502 cubic inch Big Block Chevy! That would do nicely.

I know what my other half will say tho!

I cruised back through Harlow following a guy in a nice black Tojeiro with a 351 Cleveland engine. Think we turned a few heads!

I've posted a few pics here:

Nice photos Chris. The new chassis looks really impressive. The 502cu engine looks familiar...you wouldn't know how much bhp it makes would you? It's still some time before I get mine on the rolling road.

I think the lump displayed was Chevy's 502 HO Crate Motor, in which case my Real Steel catalogue reckons they dropped a 750 cfm Holley on it and dynoed it at 450 bhp at 5250 rpm, and 550 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm.

Not bad for starters!
