Removable roll bar struts - Westfield SEiW
Discussion
faster than a speeding bullet (or fluke that I came in to look just after you posted!).
the simple answer is that you can't.
you can have an RAC approved roll bar which has removeable struts, but not a standard Westfield (cosmetic) roll bar.
sorry...

Yeah you are probably right about the hood.
Though I think they do fit, or can be encouraged to fit. Can't swear on that one though, as I don't have a hood... or a windscreen... or doors...
To be brutally honest, the standard roll bar is about
as much use as a chocolate teapot other than looking vaguely pretty. There are some sobering pictures out there of one that folded. I grabbed a hold of one on a car, and could easily wobble it just by pulling on it and I am hardly Geoff Capes.
If you think the standard roll bar is any sort of a safety feature you are sadly mistaken. Depends how much you value your head...

People do still have hood's fitted with an FIA bar, check out the WSCC Boardroom, I'm sure you'll find some usefull info on there.
And as for that sobering picture......
An FIA bar was instantly on the cards for me, well it always was as I didn't fit under the old one.
As Moom said, do you value your head more than you value your hood?

Thank for your picture . I have posted a topic on the WSCC (1 reply so far) and had a look through the archives, but can't find anything.
I assume I will have to dump the inertia reel belts too if I get a FIA bar?
Just to summarise...For road use, I would have 4 or 6 pint belts, the roll bar without stays and the lockable boot box. For trackday use, I would remove the boot box cover only and fit the stays. Would these assumptions be correct?
