Advice for complete non-mechanical person please!
As usual, my Teal Bugatti has been laid up for the winter, and after fitting a new battery, I attempted to start it up.
Fuel pump runs, and Starter motor turned over for about 30 seconds and engine almost caught, but didn't. So, pushed start button again and - nothing - .
Question is, can a starter motor get 'stuck' and if so how can I free it off. Or, what else could it be? I know the battery is OK as it is brand new and the fuel pump is running. There isn't even a click sound when the starter button is pressed - absolutely nothing.
What should I look for/do ?

Please keep explanation nice and simple. Daily driver is a Lexus and I never have to do anything to that except pour loads of petrol in on a regular basis.
Thanks
Igg

Yes your starter can stick, usually when not used for a long time and spline gets crapped up.
Put the car in gear and rock gently back and forth, this should free it up, a harsher method is a hammer on the back of the motor which does the same only more so!!!

Many thanks, I'll give her a good hammering tonight! (Oh, and the car of course).

Once its free and working again, remove the motor and clean the large threads on the end where the gear is, do this with brake parts cleaner or other volatile solvent. Do not oil or grease the splines or this will attract further crap in the future.
Best of luck Nick.
