Birkin!
South African Export going down well
Discussion
Andy,
they had their stand not far from ours at the Autosport show, and I had a close look - they looked really nicely designed and built cars with lots of detail. I don't know how long they've been around but I don't understand why I haven't heard from them before as I think they are a really good caterham (from looking at it anyway) alternative.
What they expect to gain from a 12pot ceramic brake on a car as light as theirs I do not know however.
edited to say: probably the italians though !
Felix.

There was a huge thread on Blatchat about Birkin's a while ago but it had strangely vanished. Hmmmm /conspiracy theorist.
Dispite the sniping, bickering (even from me in the end) and general blinkeredness there was some interesting stuff about the history of them and general comments on build and design.
IMO, I had a poke around one at the Autosport show and thought it was very tasty. To me it would be preferable over a Caterham if I was in the market for something like that. Seemed very well put together, had decent engine options and some very nice design touches (I *love* that pedal box).

hi i was wondering if anyone could please please please supply me with birkin contact details and address for the sth african factory and/or the price of a birkin s3 kit in sth african rand. i wish to buy and import one either factory direct or through a sth african distributor please contact steve at peyer_com@yahoo.com
I`ve got a Birkin and have been banging on about how good they are for ages.......it wasn`t until a lot of people saw the new IRS car at Autosport that they actually sat up and took notice.
I`ve got 170bhp which I was more than happy with, but I`ve got used to it now and I`m looking for a bit more. I reckon around 200bhp is about right for these cars.
Looking forward to a test drive of the new one!!
