Hi all,

I hope I can bother you with some questions I'd be glad to have answered.

Alongside the AS ONE, we developed various products which could not only be used on our car, but on others as well.

We are planning to sell the car's digital control ecu as a "stand alone" unit both to kit car enthusiasts and other manufacturers. What you would get is a small black box plus wiring which would take care of almost the complete wiring requirements of any car (inclusive indicator, all relais, fuses etc). All functions can then be "mapped" to suit the application with a conventional PC. The ecu also features self-diagnosis functions. Additionally, we are planning to do an "off the shelf" Hayabusa engine loom with all the mod's already included.

Do you think it would be suitable for any of your projects, and do you see a market ?

It would be very interesting for me to see what potential customers think of the idea - any comments / suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Best regards,

Felix.

Could make wiring a LOT easier to deal with.

My wish list would also include a single line link to some form of instrument pod similar to the Mychron Pro 3 (Data logging, though exceptionally cool, would not be required). Digital display of rpm with a Motec stylie bar, speed, oil/water temp, oil pressure, fuel level. Shift lights, gear indicator for BEC's, aux lights for ignition, beam, indicators and an ultra bright oil pressure light (after lunching one engine I'm kinda paraniod about that). Make it compatible with VDO senders as they're cheap and reliable.

Keep it light and small and you could be on to a winner. The only problem is that I expect my proposal would end up being *very* expensive.

Probably would be.

The beauty is that we could offer a basic version with uprgades available. Although we'll have a prototype of the stand alone unit available in March, it will be a while until we'll be looking at displays and the likes.

Thank you for your comments & suggestions.

have a look at dtafast.co.uk. I used one of their ECUs on a 'Silver Top' Cosworth which are a nightmare for kits as the Ford electronics is all tied up with the security system. The DTA box was easy to configure with a laptop and gives full turbo control.
