My Dutton Phaeton is now back on the road! Shakedown testing on both twisty A and B roads and the M5 have failed to bother it and the driving of it is the cause of much and even some & ! The car s horibly uncomfortable, hideously noisey but more fun than you can shake a big stick at!

I built a Dutton Phaeton back in 81/82. V6 model with Capri back axle. An interesting experience. Sold it after 500 miles, not because I didn't like it, but I needed the money and building is more fun for me than driving

yeah Iused to have a batered S3 Phaeton , 3 litre essex in it in the end. was great fun but got fed up of welding that blinking rear chassis x-member the inclined escort axle dampers mounted to. put a bloody big brace in there in the end. oh happy days .. never short of a passenger for the weekly 5 car blast to the football at Chatsworth either ..
