Westfield XTR vs Coram
Discussion
I currently have an Ultima Can-am and am getting the usual itchy feet.
I keep finding myself walking round the garage aimlessly tweeking this and that, It's time to sell the can-am and start a new project.
My problem is do I build another Can-am or go for a bike engined car like the XTR2 or Coram. (It must be mid engined)
The radial has been ruled out as you can't make it yourself but I have heard that the westfield isn't any good in comparison, is this true or unfair. I had a look up close at a few radicals at a track day and wasn't impressed with the finish or detail!
However I don't want to be disapointed with the end result and do have high expectations.
What about the new Coram.
Which is best? what should I do

I've met the guys behind Coram Automotive, and through several long discussions, I've been impressed with their thinking, both in terms of the performance targets and also their views on ergonomics/build quality and those other 'less important' bits.
My understanding is that they will launch at Autosport International (if you can wait that long!) and should be ready with a runner at the same time. A call as a serious, cash-wielding enquiry, you might be able to get an early viewing & test.

Thanks Richard! (your tenner's in the post...)
Andy, I doubt very much that you'll be disappointed with our car and I can guarantee that it'll certainly be worth the wait.
What I can't say at the moment is how the LMP will stack up against the competition, but we know where we need to be at the very least on the performance front. Believe me, we won't be happy if we're only as good as our competitors...
See you at Autosport!

I definatelly can wait, and from what I have seen of the Coram I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh as it is high on my list.
Will a demonstrator be ready for test drives in the summer? and I assume it will be road legal! Oh and what's the V8?, I get the feeling its something very special.
Finally, what's wrong with the XTR2, it looks good in pics and on paper!

Andy,
Look forward to seing you at the show
We'll be posting digitally enhanced preview pictures on the web-site this week (they're basically shots of the prototype with wheels, roll-hoop cover and lights digitally added). Real pic's will follow soon after.
Our competitors cars are undoubtedly very good at what they do, but it's only natural for us to want to be better. We've got targets to aim for and exceed. That's the nature of competition.
We also think our baby looks better than anyone elses; like any new parents would! It's only natural!!
Steve.
