Getting my old Westfield back on the road
Discussion
Hi everyone.
I've got what was once a lovely Westfield MegaS2000 but due to some personal circumstances, it's been SORNED and just sat in a (clean, dry, but not climate controlled) garage for about five years now, literally not having been touched once.
I'm coming back out of the the situation I was in, and would love to get the car back on the road. I'm not in a position to do much work on the vehicle myself, although I can blow the tires up enough to help roll/winch it onto a low-loader. Vehicle was running fine when it was SORNed.
I imagine the vehicle will need tank draining, all fluids replacing, new tyres, new battery, new air filter. Pads and discs probably OK, but maybe get changed anyway as I think they are about 8 years old now. Basically a bloody good service. And then of course an MOT.
Does that feel like basically the right scope of work? Assuming no nasty surprises of course.
Can anyone recommend a good garage (or individual) in or around the Gloucestershire area to get that work done? Obviously don't mind driving somewhere else for the MOT.
I see that Westfield themselves have gone under since I was a customer - what's the reputation of the new chaps in Bicester like for work such as this?
Really grateful for any replies! :-)

I did swap the engine and but new fuel in, but my car was off the road five years and I basically just started using it.
Obviously all normal checks are good, but the suspension bolts are not going to have undone themselves and unless they where past it when it was parked up the tyres are likely ok for at least a bit of a shake down. I plan to replace mine in spring now.
I would stick some fuel in, check the oil and coolant level, and stick in on charge and or jump start it and see if it will run.
Assuming it does run, then yeah I likely would get it and MOT and see how that goes. The oil will be just as good as it was parked up.
Likely would then get it warm do an oil/filter/plug change before driving it much, but it wouldnt fret too hard before the first start.
But yeah, you have got the rough gist of it.
Cam belt and aux belt as said above.
Brake fluid change.

I built an S2000 Westie a few years ago and if you can get it to Berkshire, I can go through it and recommission it back to running again. Let me know if you want to go that route.
