Friend has found one, but its not been MOT'd for years and still registered as a Triumph Herald, so will need to go through a test, as I doubt its V5 was sorted during the amnesty.

Much work to get them up to spec? its not big money to buy, is fitted with a running 2 litre GT6 engine, an over drive box and has a nice non dating plate on it. Looks ok in the pics.

What would be the going rate these days for something like that that needs to be IVA'd to be road legal again ? or is it way too much hassle

Supply a bunch of pictures (including the engine compartment) and people here might well be able to supply some useful advice.

I'd be amazed if there was anybody here with enough knowledge of Spartans to be able to help without pictures.

I am going with him in the next few days to take a look, but regardless of how good it is, it Spartans are known to have lots on non IVA compliant elements that need addressing then its a no no, as even good ones are not worth much it seems.

Is the Spartan built on the Herald chassis?

I think they are and, if so, it shouldn't need an IVA at all, should it?

I appreciate it has had an engine swap, but I don't believe that would be a significant mod to the chassis either.

Yes its a Herald chassis apparently, not sure if they get modified though.

Put a triumph badge on it and I doubt many inc MOT testers and the police would even know what a Triumph Herald is these days anyway!

That is is possibly true though that it would pass the points test so no need for an IVA, just a rename.

I will let him decide once we have taken a look.

The chassis outriggers were cut off and the front chassis members were cut off just in front of the anti roll bar
