Petrol Tank Sender Identification Help
Discussion
Oakdale,
The car is a Rickman Ranger, short wheelbase. It’s being restored by a couple of mates of mine. I’m going to call them tomorrow to try and get a photo of the tank. Engine is a 1.6 pinto ford, which is running sweetly now. I bought another Rickman a couple years ago and we’re sacrificing that for parts. The sender is from the tank in my original car, which they found to be knackered. The tank is A1 OK. But we are struggling to identify the tank for certain.
Thanks for interest. Neall.

It reminds me of a Mk1/2 escort van sender that I had on my Dutton many years ago, I seem to remember the arm being on a unit attached to the steel suction pipe. The van sender differing from the standard by the tank being relatively shallow and rectangular and having a far shorter range of throw on the arm., I also think it only used a single wire with the tank needing to be earthed to complete it- but must say its from memory over 30 years ago.
