Getting an age related plate on a old build
Discussion
Ive found a AC Cobra rep that im interested in.
Its comes with the Dona 69 jag V5 and i'd but the car has never been registered.
From what i can find out im i right that its based on a point system that would allow me to registered with the age related plate?
The problem with this is the car is using the Jag running gear but has a Rover Engine and gearbox.
Any info would be great thanks in advance.

If you have the original donor V5 and have used the original donors suspension arms, axles, wheel hubs, steering arms , brakes etc you should have enough points to avoid a Q plate at the IVA test you will obviously have to put the finished car through. The make of engine and box have no bearing on the age related plate situation, its all down to the running gear from the donor being utilised.
Have you got any photos or documentation such as invoices etc from when the car was built as you do need to be able to prove it is an amateur build? The lack of provenance may create a problem in proving this.
You will probably get more info asking for advice on the UK cobra club website.
