Can anyone tell what this is?
Discussion
Hi all,
Question for you knowledgeable peeps..
Can anyone tell me what this is (to me it looks like a pile of cr@p) as I was lead to believe it was a Caterham.
To put it in context, it's a promo car sitting in one of our shops- we are relocating the store but not the car. So it needs to be moved. It was suggested we put it on eBay to 'get whatever it's worth' but I have no idea-there's no plate on it presently and the location of the V5 is also under dispute.
It's got no fluids in it, no history as I can tell also and not sure if it has keys or would indeed start.
The seats have been found in an upstairs storeroom though!
Thanks all, and if anyone has an idea of what it's worth??

Looks like it is Dutton based. Triumph front end and the engine bay looks like a Dutton Phaeton
100% it's a Dutton, the sloping chassis rails visible in the cockpit gave it away for me.It is a woefully ugly looking thing though, makes the original Dutton look quite pretty and that's quite an achievement. Unless it's correctly registered on the V5 it won't be worth very much.

If no V5 , or V5 says Herald or anything else palpably incorrect then the answer is it's worth very little. If the V5 is current and describes it with a kit name someone will pay £1k maybe. Perhaps. The vehicle is worth next to nothing unless it has a V5, and even then, finding a buyer that would allow their guide dog to even sniff it would be tricky.....

That picture is not chassis, its a random collection of box steel some gump has welded(ish) together........

Correctly registered Duttons have been highly prized as "donor vehicles", though it's the V5 that gets donated rather than any car parts. The vehicle is worth next to nothing unless it has a V5, and even then, finding a buyer that would allow their guide dog to even sniff it would be tricky.....
