Cycle wind stays for Escort hubs
Discussion
I've got a nice mk2 Sylva Striker which I've been bombing around in for the past few months. I'm looking at lots of bits I want to improve and the cycle wing mounts are now top of my list. The car has (I think) MK2 escort front suspension, with the Striker inboard rockers.
Is there a decent way to mount the wing stays/brackets? They're fastened into a couple of bits of tube badly splat welded onto the hub assembly at the moment. I say fastened, but one livened up my journey home yesterday by flying off.
I've seen some for Cortina and Sierra hubs that pick up some existing bolts. There's not much on mine though, unless it mounts on the caliper bolts? Any solutions out there people can share?

I'm not familiar with the Striker set up but my 1995 Westfield used Cortina uprights. 3/16" was machined off the top joint so the upper part of the cycle wing bracket could be secured through the top ball joint. The lower part was bracketed off the lower caliper mount.
I'd say bracket off whatever seems most secure and solid. Even Quantum seemed to suffer a lot of cycle wing failures with their Xtreme IIRC. A healthy dose of home over-engineering should see you right.
