Fitting an Aeroscreen, well not yet but HELP!
Discussion
Ok I have removed the windscreen, wipers, and wiper motors off my SE as I'm going to be purchasing an aeroscreen!
The thing is, will i need a new scuttle or will the aeroscreen cover up the huge holes left by the wipers?
Cheers

doh... the old plastic car trick, damn.
must be in Mini mode sorry. too much beer. thanks for being gentle, some people are being nasty to me today.
Have fun, and do us a favour. Tell me if the aero screen is worth having, or if it makes a helmet a necessity.
I would explain, but give me a couple of days and pictures will tell more than a 1000 words.

Danger Mouse if you're talking about Lambo then so far he's just shown himself to be a troll and will disappear.
IMHO (I don't have aeroscreens but this is just my opinion) I would recommend a minimum of goggles (no not the swimming ones ) or a helmet as stones from a car wheels in front or other object in the eye is not the best way to maintain control!!

The reason I had to get rid of the windscreen was because with my new seat in place the top of the windscreen was obsuring my vision and I couldn't see a thing!
Is it legal to wear a helmet on the roads, I remember in a rally the drivers had to take theirs off and drive at the speed limit for a part of a stage!

Suprisingly it IS illegal! Though I don't think any copper out there would stop you for it. Most people I know who have aeroscreens run around with their helmets on. Think what a stone can do to your windscreen at speed, now apply that to your head/face/eyes.

I presume there's different rules for aeroscreen cars and motorcycles, then?
How do you know that it's illegal, juansolo?

I've seen this discussion before about helmets and cars IIRC it isn't illegal to wear a helmet in the car provided it doesn't obscure your view. ie road legal helmet for motorbike. Rally drivers don't remove their helmets on the steet sections (some can do if they wish but its not a legal requirement).
Yer the westfield aeroscreen is a huge 2 piece effort which is why it costs £270!
I've contacted Tim from www.just-the-one.net who makes a smaller aeroscreen for £80, I just need to get measurements to see if it fits!
Edited to remove dodgy link!
