A key ignition switch is essentially off-on-(on).

So your switch panel the earth can be shared (obviously) your toggle switch will be to ignition /fuel pump etc and your momentary push button will be to the starter solenoid.

I'm not sure about your existing wiring but you can just use that.

Your ignition barrel will (likely) have three leads. Earth, Ignition and Start. Run the earth to one of the terminals on both of the new switches, the ignition to the other terminal on the toggle and the start to the other terminal on the momentary push button.

No point stripping out any of the other wiring and redoing it if it works.
