Hi all, I hope all is well with you and yours during the shut down etc. Can anyone advise regarding chassis tape, I am concerned it may hold water, although there are tapes that will not hold moisture, I don't want to put the body on the chassis and have loads of rattles. I have a Ram SC Cobra using a Reynard chassis, any advice appreciated to help me make up my mind.

I have a GD and used a closed cell foam rubber strip along strategic points, no issues in nearly twenty years use.

As above.

Chassis tape should be closed cell foam so it does not absorb water.

check out Denso tape - that is what I applied to the chassis on my TVR. It is the tape that oil / gas / water utility companies wrapped their steel pipes before going over to plastic pipe.

It has grease/oil in it though - will that be ok with contact to GRP?

It will be on a steel to steel frame.

Should be one of the contenders! - Also known as zeebo tape. Some have used it to wrap leaf springs as well.

We still wrap steel / copper pipes in Denso tape to protect them, it will not rust your powder coated chassis :-)
