Hi everyone

I need help here, I have what I think is a 2 litre silvertop Zetec in a Quantum Xtreme but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell me how I can see if it is 2.0 or 1.8? Second part - is it worth dumping it and going to a Duratec?
Thanks
Steve

Is been a while since I ran my Tiger, but they should have the engine size stamped here.

Standard 2.0 Zetec is good for 170bhp with sideddafts/ throttle bodies, or 200bhp is like me you added cams a flowed head. It also has the benefit of lots of (second hand) tuning parts and an exhaust on the near side, if you run a side pipe, which becomes the passengers problem when getting in/out.

Duratec puts out more power and can use a standard MX5 gearbox, BUT the exhaust is driver side like the Pinto and pound per BHP will cost more than modding your (already plumbed and bolted in) Zetec set up.

^thats my personal view, based on the theory that you aren’t a lottery winner and cannot afford to just throw £££s at your car.

For parts and upgrades I would suggest the following forums/groups.

LocostBuilders
Turbosports

That's great thanks, will go with that, the car already has throttle bodies and management, will check the cams and leave it at that.
