My first experience with kits... Advice needed, Dover region
Discussion
Hi all,
I just bought a Sylva Mojo. My first kit car, looked really forward to it. On the drive home, the car overheated and was losing power. I went to the side as soon as possible. Since I was close to Dover (10 miles), I let it cool down and gave it another shot. Did that 2 or 3 times and managed to get to the docks.
I was hoping to make it to France, as that would make recovery a lot easier. That's not happening anymore, as the car won't start. The starter seems to have a hard time turning the engine over.
Guessing that I bricked it, a might as well get it fixed in the UK, where these things are more common. Saves me the hassle of recovery and finding a local garage.
The engine is a ford zetec 2l blacktop on throttle bodies. From memory: with an emerald ecu. I figured it might be a good excuse to get an ST170 engine in there, if it is really gone.
Does anyone have recommendations in the Dover area that could pick up the car, check it out and if necessary swap the engine?
Not the best start, probably should have cut my losses when it was running rough when I went to pick it up, but it was hard to resist (and a big loss).
Sorry for the rambling, I just need some sleep
