How does this sound as far as registering?

Fabia EVOLVE is a modern rally chassis prepared for Subaru owners.

It allows a smooth transition from your old Subaru Impreza rally car to a modern and agile design, while keeping most of your existing components (engine, gearbox, diffs and suspension).

Fabia Evolve chassis is designed to accept Subaru boxer engine (EJ20, EJ25), transaxle Subaru gearbox and all wheel drivetrain.

Suspension mount points are fully compatible with Subaru Impreza STI 2008 or newer, so you can use your existing crossmembers and arms or upgrade to to STI R4 kit.

That's what I would have thought but the rally lads don't.

If they have a model report from a "master" IVA, can that be used to show the shell is ok, or is that only valid if you build one up to exactly the same spec?

I reckon they could get 7 of 8 points, but since they're changing the engine, gearbox, axles and suspension they've got nothing left for the last point.

I suppose they could dump a Fabia drivetrain into it, register it, then swap it.

To retain original registration it has to retain the original unmodified chassis or a new unmodified identical version to original.... this isn't the case so legally it 100% requires IVA.

This is a real deal breaker however lots of people choose to pretend this specific rule can't be right and ignore it... I mean if this was true how did their mates mate register there car? so it must be bolloks!

However they might be able to get enough points to get an age related plate rather than end on a Q just like all the 7 types out there!

But let's not overlook the fact that thousands of older cars are modified like this or similar and they retain their original identity and get away with it.

yeah my issue is: does the shell come with ID to be registered as a Skoda or are they expecting people to use their Subaru ID details? In which case the Plod or MoT station may notice it isn't a Scooby and impound it or worse.

The motorsport world seem to be able to circumnavigate the VOSA rules.
