I have owned a Westfield for less than a year. (It has been off the road for most of that time, during which, the MOT has expired).

A specialist has just got the car running perfectly again, but can't help with the MOT. There is no CAT on the car, which is a 2001, factory built model.

What do others do? Fit a CAT get it MOT'd and then remove it again? Or are there kit car friendly MOT testers out there?

West Midlands area, it anyone can recommend anyone!

I assume it’s not on a Q plate if it’s factory built?

I have never been picked up for no cat on even a road car, as long as the emissions are ok it will likely get overlooked, especially by the independent garages with an owner who likes cars smile.

Is there a lambda on the pipe ? They did sell exhausts with cats in the silencers, so might be that ?

Which engine? Would it normally be cat’d in the tin-top it came from?

My 2004-registered SEiW doesn’t have a cat and passes it’s mot - possibly because it’s an SDV car, so probably ‘inherits’ the emissions regime from the donor

Check the V5 section 3 which is notes at bottom of front page.
It should say there what the emissions should be.

Do check this, as mine stats 3.5%, so is the old pre cat test.
