Hi All

I have a Westfield kit car that will be for sale soon due to a bad debt.
I have yet to get it out and photo it and get chassis details but there seems to be quite a few parts including a rebuilt performance engine. It is probably over 10 years old but has very little work completed. It has been dry stored.

Is there a demand for this type of thing. It's value is difficult to estimate until it is catalogued, but it is bound to be quite a bit less than a new kit.

What is the current demand for Westfields?

Any help appreciated.

In case I have not been clear, this is a kit of parts and not a complete car.

A potential problem is the newer IVA test is harder to pass each year, so a 10 year old kit might need substantial changes to get through the test now. I'm not in the market, but I think you'd be right to ask a lot less than a new kit which would have current manufacturer back up. The price will have to be low enough to be tempting.

I suspect it will be a cheap way to a car.

If I had more time I would build it myself, but currently building a new workshop, then a TVR Cerbera refurbishment followed by a 6 wheel, 27 litre special.

Oh, and a new house.......

I hope you'll post some pictures of the " 6 wheel, 27 litre special." smile
Sounds like you have a very busy life!

I think it would help to provide more details of what you have. Is it a brand new super turbo Westfield incl everything, donor etc, is it an old pre-lit that was never built, is it an Eleven?

When I get a spare couple of hours I will get it out and catalogue/photo it all.

As I said, it is at least 10 years old.

Thanks to those that have emailed me. I have had quite a few so will post more info here when I have it.

It will eventually be for sale in the classifieds for anyone interested.

One option is to sell it in an Ebay auction. Then you haven't got to worry about price; just let the market do its thing. Lots of photos, exhaustive inventory. Do a bit of research first so you know the correct name for everything.

Might I suggest putting it on with a start price of £1750 and no reserve. If it's a complete Westfield kit plus bits, it should go way above this figure. If it's a kit made way before SVA/IVA, it should still sell, because some people are building kit cars only for the track these days.

I would think it will be very popular, take your time and catalogue everything as suggested and you will be ok.
A call to the factory may help, I’m not sure how approachable they are but they may have a buyer in mind too.

what engine comes with the car? can you make a list of the major components included in the sale?
