Hi,

I'm in need of a fuel tank. Space available is roughly 850mm X 250mm X 250mm which I think is roughly caterham / westfield size.

Something like this...

http://www.compbrake.com/product/12-gallon-45-ltr-...

Requirements are with fuel filler on top, baffles, carb'ed car and safe!

However, nice as it is £200+ is a bit rich for me and a bit excessive for what is essentially a cheap car. Does anyone have any cheaper ideas?

Dont know the supplier, but the standard tank on a Fury is that sort of size but in plastic.

Thanks - I'll get googling.

I think I've got the price down a little to sub £200 just.

I'm a bit confused about whether or not I need baffles or foam? Car is low performance carb engine and the priority is not exploding in a ball of flames rather than going fast.

As long as the tank has a small sump area I wouldnt worry excessively.
You can always add foam later if required.

Add an external surge tank or swirl pot
I had a basic rectangular tank with pick up one end and exiting round-a-bouts caused a massive flat spot.
Swirl pot and second pump and all ok

Try ellisfabrication@hotmail.co.uk

very nice work. not bling but well made and best prices I have found. He has done several tanks for us.

And yes design it with a sump avoiding the need for a separate swirl pot and another pump.
