6J and 7J x 13 tyre options
Discussion
Hoping someone can help with this as no searches are coming up with the same answer.
I have a set of 13 inch wheels, 6j on the front and 7j on the rear that are needing new tyres. So far the only E marked tyres I've found still available in 205/60/13 and 185/60/13 are R888rs which are a bit pricey considering they'll be used mainly on the road and won't last very long.
There is plenty of choice if I can use 185/60/13 all round, but am unsure if 185/60 will safely fit over a 7J rim... What do people think? Would you be happy with 185s on a 7 inch wheel in your car or is it a stupid idea? (the tyres I'm looking at are NS2-Rs with a sectional width of 189mm/7.44 inches)

I have a set of 185-60 13 AO21s on 7" rims for wet use on my track toy. They are slightly stretched but basically fine. I can post a pic tomorrow. However, most online calculators suggest a 6.5" max.
Thanks Would be massively appreciated if you could post a pic. My reservations are the 6.5 max quoted by most tied to my lack of understanding about how far 7 would be pushing it.Edited by Black_S3 on Thursday 17th May 02:58

As promised...
Thanks I think I'll give it a go and see what it looks like. If I'm not happy with it I guess I can just buy some 6 inch wheels and swap the new tyres across. annodomini2 said:
Thanks, I had seen these but 195s wont fit under the front arches and I dont want to use different tyres front/rear. R888s are the only things that come in both sizes but I'm not keen on the price or getting caught on the motorway with them in pissing rain.Edited by Black_S3 on Thursday 17th May 22:02
check the tyre´s manufacturer homepage . the manufacturer is giving clear instructions which is the max. rim width for each specific tyre size...anything else is dangerous and illegal.
Nankang has some interesting semi slicks, also Federal.
not in english language...but quite a good overview about sizes and manufacturers:

I've had the R888r on my Fury for 2 years and something like 8000miles. Been caught in frankly biblical rain storms both here and in France/Italy (where the road surfaces aren't as good in the wet) and they cope OK... not great but OK. The old version aquaplaned for fun but the new version doesn't as long as you're not being silly.
