Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade the engine in my Westfield from a sluggish 1.6cvh to something a little more pokey. After doing some research the 1.6 ecoboost from the Fiesta ST Mk9 has caught my eye.

I have already purchased a 2L Zetec blacktop but after speaking with a few engine developers (Scholars and Dunnell) it seems that I can fit the ecoboost for roughly the same money as the Zetec which seems like a no brainer to me. You can pick up a low mileage complete engine for around £1300 so its not mega money.

I was posting to find out if anyone has had any experience with outing a 1.6 ecoboost into a 7 style car and how must it cost.

Thanks very much

I agree with the ecoboost. I have a zetec and considered changing. The biggest expence seems to be the ECU, but you get a lot for your mone . More torque as standard with similar power to a 2l zetec but a lot more economical. And a turbo upgrade is all that's needed for super power.
I'd like to see the 1.0 in a car. Cheap and small but with a better turbo up to 200bhp.

Keep us/me posted.

There is one part built on WSCC and a couple running too. Lots of work to fit. Electronics is quite a bit but fly by wire throttle another. Decent engine. Remember the exhaust comes out the OS as opposed to the NS of the cvh engine. Sure this will become a more popular transplant as time goes by. SBD do stuff for this engine.

Thanks for the replies lads! Its so difficult getting hold of info on the 1.6t ecoboost purely because not many eco boost conversions have happened yet. I'll do a build / convrsion thread on this post. My father in law is a top notch car body specialist so if we need to modify the bonnet lid and exhaust exit I'm covered.
