Bowden Cable - Connection
Discussion
I haven't a clue where to put this - it's not actually for a car, it's for a glider, but this is the best place I can think of - Mods, feel free to move.
I have a Closed ring on the end of a length of (basically) coat hangar, which actuates a valve, which looks like the below:
VALVE___O
It's actuated by a 1.1mm Bowden cable to the cockpit. I need a way of connecting the bowden cable to the ring above, but it must be A) Detachable and B) needs to incorporate a means to Adjust tension in the cable. I'm thinking along the lines of this:

But wondering if there is a better way - I also can't see a way of adjusting any tension using something like the above.
Any clues very much appreciated. If needs require the width of the inner cable can be increased up to 2.5mm (it has a small hole to go through - the actuating handle is an old bike thumb shifter).

Looks like the sort of thing you're after? Is this for a full size glider or a model? If full size, i.e. one you fly in, then maybe talk to an approved licensed engineer and get his opinion? You're putting your life in the hands of a bunch of internet car nuts. Who's the real nut here?
On my Pulsar (permit plane) had a similar arrangement on the tailwheel, the bowden cable was simply looped thro' the O ring & double up with itself in a type of screw clamp with grub screws in (the AA/RAC use a similar method to do a temp repair on broken cables or use a universal inner with those ends for a temp replacement). Not sure of the name of the device, but it's effectively a solderless nipple - possibly available from someone like LAS for a "proper" aviation fitting. Adjustment is simple by pulling further cable thro' or slackening off.
I don't think you want a turnbuckle, big heavy clunky things for something as lightweight as a glider
Your permit inspector should be able to advise
