Hi,

Backford Bloor
Footman James
Adrian Flux
A Plan

Seem to the be the current favourites. the Registration year of the Cob can make a big difference in cost, just be careful not to blag it accidentally onto an unsuitable policy.

Assuming you had comprehensive insurance - on what grounds did they repudiate the claim?

Ultima factory said new body shell needed to be safe in 200mph car, cheap glass fibre repairer down the road said he could fix it half price, obviously knowing the insurance assessor, took it to insurance ombudsman but couldn't change decision. Took the value of the glass fibre offer and bought new body shell, had to cover all other costs myself. Fully comp insurance never had a claim before, AF just washed their hands of it and said speak to underwriters NIG.

Bearing in mind the name and shame rules, all I'll say is that I would expect my brokers to fight tooth and nail to support my claim in those circumstances. furious

Flux and Footman James I would avoid, both tried it on at renewal time.
Peter James (The James in FJ above) is in business himself these days so might be worth a shout.

A Plan always do the best for my Westfield, but you must call their Thatcham branch and ask for Clare. As for the F Capacitors, my dealing with them, seem to be sell, sell , sell, offer available now and if you want it , then it wont be as good tomorrow type selling and found them 'very' pushy and unprofessional. Wont be going there again with that sales technique.

Well I have finally got my Cobra and tried to get a quote from Footman James and they won't insure me as I have a CU80 on my lisenence (being on the phone) I'm not moaning about them as if that's their policy then fair enough, but i have just insured our McLaren with no problems? It is the only points I have. Any other recommendations please. Is this the norm for kit car insurance??

Give Heritage a call. 0121 246 6063. I have always found them to be extremely helpful and will offer better conditions than others.

Try CLASSIC LINE in Hinckley. Many of us in the GT40 Enthusiasts Club have our cars insured through them. They also do the insurance for many people in the National Street Rod Association (NSRA) who have hot rods.
I took all my vehicles away from Footman James due to them constantly jacking premiums.
