Did your car pass an IVA visual emissions? I have a V5 issue
Discussion
Anyone else had this and got it changed
OK so I got my V5 form through, the initial euphoria quickly diminished when I noticed note 2 on the front. I don’t think it will be an issue at MOT time but…
I contacted the DVLA and they say it is because the IVA cert has AOH in the class code half way down on the right. I included my engine date certificate in the information to DVLA showing it is a 1971 engine and that it only needs a visual inspection for emissions but they said I would have to get back to VOSA as they do not know the technicalities and a new IVA certificate would be needed for them to change it.
I am very concerned as the figures seem to be for a 2012 engine on wards with catalytic converters, not a non cat quad IDA weber carb V8, or if I ever sell the car it may be seen by a prospective purchaser as an issue, or because it is on the V5 it may become an issue at a future date.
Thanks
Nick

Mine has that. I've got my first mot next week so I'm a little concerned given the problems I had getting through IVA emissions, but we shall see.
The MOT manual states: "Q plated vehicles are to be treated as being first used before 1 August 1975 for emissions purposes", which always used to be the case, ie visible smoke only.
However it also says: "Kit cars and amateur built vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1998 are required to obtain either Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) or Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) and should be tested to the limits stated on the vehicles V5C."
However to confuse the issue further, in DSVA-land, what we often call a "kitcar" is a "kit conversion" if it includes bits of old vehicles, a "kitcar" means all buit from new parts.
So mine is a q plate kit conversion....here's hoping for a visible smoke test.
ETA - mine isn't quite the same, it has the BET limits on it (0.3 CO at idle) because they tested it as per a 1994 engine. But same sort of thing. If they've put the 2017 limits on it, someone's made a right balls up. Do you have a copy of your MAC certificate? That might have on what they actually tested.

Hi,
Not sure what the MAC cert is on the IVA certificate for emissions it has N/A. I have been told at present because the MOT station will not be able to look up GT40 for emissions it should revert to just a visual check...but.
If it makes a difference my car has a normal reg not Q plate, but was tested at IVA for visual smoke check only as I have a engine age 1971 certificate.

You need to go back to the IVA test station and advise them they have entered the wrong info in their submission to DVLA..
Take with you your copy of the IVA form you received when you were given your test date. Also the engine age letter.
With the application number from the form they should be able to go back to their records and confirm the test criteria they used.
If they agree there has been an error they can issue an amendment to DVLA.
