I'm just wondering if anyone knows how you access dvla records for a kit car. I have looked up a kit car E-Type I have and was surprised that it came up by typing in Jaguar E-Type under the first bar, then entering in the reg number. However, when I enter the number and model for another car I have nothing shows up. The car is a Tiger Cat E1. On the documents I have for the car, under model, it simply says SPORTS. But entering sports, sport, kit car or even Tiger Cat, on the dvla site (the MOT history im referring to not the page where you enter the reg number which brings up the initial data about the car, inc year and colour, taxed, etc) and reg number, but nothing happens.

Isn't a Cat a seven-type? Be interested to see an e-type body on one...

I entered the reg again, this time under Lotus, but still nothing. The reason why the E-Type kit car came up was because it is classed as an E-Type, essentially anyway, whereas I don't think a Tiger Cat is defined as any other car model other than a Tiger Cat (based on a Caterham/Lotus 7 yes, but so too are alot of other similar looking kit cars of that type, I.e. Robin Hoods, Locosts, etc). Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

I just tried the "Check if a Vehicle is Taxed" and only needed the reg no for my car.

The site told me the rest.
