Intermeccanica Speedster
Discussion
I'm just considering buying this Intermeccanica Speedster replica in the states -

We're going to Carmel for the classic car week in August and I'm hoping I can insure it to use there and drive the Pacific coast highway - drive it to some events and then ship home to use afterwards.
I've owned a few replica Speedsters ( and also three original ones which of course I sold too soon !) in the past but don't have any experience of Intermeccanica - I've looked them up on google and they seem to be one of the original replica manufacturers with a good reputation.
The car is registered as a VW ( chassis plate shown and documented) and as such I guess could be registered on any age related plate when shipped to the UK ?????? any guidance welcome please
Also does anyone have any experience of insuring a car for use in the states ? we'll be at Carmel for a week and then the dealer will ship it over for me - he's also happy for me to use his address if need be. ( we've rented a cottage via Air BnB so will have an address of sorts for the week - rather than a hotel)
And of course any opinions on the car would be most welcome - it looks fairly authentic to me and he tells me it drives well but all opinions would be gratefully received
Thanks
Steve
