Discussion
Hope everyone is going to Stoneleigh next weekend (30th-1st May), its going to be a good one I hear, new cars, Cozmo, Buggies, Noble, V6 Exocet, etc, band on the Sunday Evening, see you in the bar, or around the show. Don't miss it.
Don't forget it's a Sunday/Monday show not Sat/Sun.

Crikey - I bet that shifts!
The colour scheme is somewhat, errrrrrm, challenging to these eyes, Stu!
Interestingly we have sold mostly black grp on black chassis, nearly Exocets 1000 now. If you are coming to Stoneleigh then can I suggest you bring sun glasses !The colour scheme is somewhat, errrrrrm, challenging to these eyes, Stu!

Is that the 2.5/3.0l jag/mondeo engine or the mx6 klde engine?
If you have an easy way to get the mx5 box to work with the jag engine that would be interesting.
easy to fit in Exocet, we use the 3.0L all Al V6, details of the conversion will be at Stoneleigh but I cannot mention the firms name on here of course. But if you take one of our popular previous products that starts with an R and add eer on the end that will find you everything about MX5 V6 conversions, is this an advert? ~_~If you have an easy way to get the mx5 box to work with the jag engine that would be interesting.

Very disappointed with turnout, Loadsa Cobra's, GT40's, & Fake italians if that's your kinda thing, on club stands, and manufacturers of same.
Plenty of Westies, Robin Hoods, Stratos reps, though Quantums, Duttons, JBA, Merlin etc were down on normal, Westfield have also taken over The caterham Marquee!
>
Most Beach buggies I've ever seen in one place [Well done great turnout]
>
Caterhams were only a 1/4 of those there a few years ago, no Lotii at all: 10 years ago they filled that space where they were this year??
>
Star's of the show for me were the Buckland,{knew Dick B well so nice to see one of his creations being used] - and the F4 [based on the Phantom fighter Jet]which had taken the owner 7 years to handcraft - WOW what a great job he made of it My Mind boggles about spending that length of time on any project. Really Nice guy too spoke to him at length, no BS to be heard there, really knew his stuff - other Major manufacturers ought to follow his example.

It was very busy in the halls, every exhibitor I spoke to was very happy. The weather turned out good but as usual any hint of the slightest bit of rain and only the die-hard's turnout, glad they did. I just take a roll up water proof when I drive my kit car, no good leaving cars to gather dust in the garage, they aren't made of sugar !
Hi there,
A great show with some superb cars on show.
Looking forward to being at the show next year with my finished GBS Zero

That's more like it - Thanks Tim.
Is that Metro 6R4 a new kit? Possibly the Speed 3 Automotive car? Zoomed in - It is. They still have nothing on their website and haven't followed up my enquiries through their website
What the hell is that Lee Noble thing? That deserves some explanation!

Hi there,
Here's a photo of both sides of the Speed3 leaflet. That doesn't shed to much light on the kit though I'm afraid. It did look great in the flesh.
In terms of Lee Noble's creation the orange car was one of two designs, the other one was the Bug-R. I didn't take a picture but here's one from one of the guys on Facebook

The BBC weather forecasters have a lot to answer for.
Ever since Michael Fish got the hurricane forecast wrong they have been distinctly over pessimistic.
Last year some smaller shows local to me were cancelled on the basis of their forecast when, as it turned out, they could have been held quite successfully.
The Monday forecast for Stoneleigh was not good but, in fact, the day was fine with just one very light shower.
As usual we had one busy day and one quieter day but, since this is now the only show left, I had hoped for a better attendance on the Monday.

That "light shower" got quite heavy at one point as I was wandering around the club areas outside! I would also have to observe that the ground was already wet when I arrived! But I had my waterproof jacket, so I was ok.I do take your point that the weather was ok overall, but I can also see why rain would make lots of people in the club areas pack up and leave - lots of kits don't seem to do well in the rain, do they?Ever since Michael Fish got the hurricane forecast wrong they have been distinctly over pessimistic.

Thought there was some interesting stuff in the halls this year. My fave was the new 288 GTO kit. Okay not perfect on the wheelbase, but overall look was lovely, capturing the spirit of that gorgeous shape well. Lots of attention to detail, and made by an experienced manufacturer. And of course if you wanted the real thing you'd need about 2 million quid and you'd probably be afraid to drive it anyway.
Really threw a spanner in the works of my car plans for the next few years as it's very tempting.

The BugR looked (as expected) a very professional quality product. That photo looks good, I couldn't get back far enough to get the car in due to the vast number of people at the show! Very good show - let's keep the enthusiasm up guys as this is the only dedicated kit show (at the moment)Regards
