The lightweight race fibreglass two peice body on my Fisher Fury is riddled with stress cracks and chipped paintwork and needs a refresh.

I had thought about drilling all the cracks out and re-fibreglassing but think it'll be a huge job and because its a very light weight race body it's liable to just crack again so, as this is a pure trackday car I would like to just fill the chips to get it reasonably smooth and then get a very cheap wrap done, or buy the materials and wrap it myself if possible.

Does anyone have experience of this?

Mine wasn't a cheap wrap. I had it professionally done and it came to just over £1000 but that's still about half the price of a good spray job.

I watched the whole process (and wrote an article about it) and it's not as easy as it looks or as easy as some people will tell you it is.

The vinyl is actually thinner than a paint finish (primer/paint/clearcoat) so any imperfections in the GRP will show in the vinyl finish but if you're only looking at a track car you may not mind that too much.
