IVA manual update version 10
Discussion
First thing I checked was the rear fog.
They did try and make it a rule that the fog lights switched off when the headlights were turned off and would not come on again unless reselected.
They now have that as an option (not easy to do on a kitcar) or an audible warning if the fogs are on when the ignition is turned off. There are other bits but the audible warning is very easy to achieve using a normal lights on buzzer.

I think it could be done with two dpdt relays, a dpdt momentary switch, a couple of diodes and a couple of resistors. It just needs a bistable circuit that is energised off the lights so that it only works when the lights are on and resets when the lights are turned off. The trick is to make each relay self latching, however you reset them not by breaking the circuit rather by applying 12v to the ground side of the coil. The resistor sits between the ground side of the coil and ground and is small enough so that there will be enough current to activate the relay, but large enough to keep the current when there is the 12v switch off applied to a reasonable level, it should be momentary so 12 ohms would probably be OK.They did try and make it a rule that the fog lights switched off when the headlights were turned off and would not come on again unless reselected.
Of course you could always use one of these-

Or just use one of the many stalks or dash switches that push the rear fog to OFF when the headlights are turned off. E.g. the VAG dash switch that also satisfies the tell-tale requirement. Much easier than electronic solutions.
You spoil all the fun Gave me something to think about while nodding off to sleep anyway.
I thought most modern cars would use an electronic lighting module now, is the VAG switch off an older model?
Toltec, one of these:-

Despite advocating the simple mechanical solution, I used a Cartek module when I built my own car. It was easier to combine with MK4 Escort stalks and Infinitybox wiring.
