Does anyone know of any good dealers specialising in buying kit cars?. I have a Tiger Cat E1 fitted with a Ford 2.0 ltr Duratec engine that I wish to sell. Private sale has so far received no interest.

In my experience only use a dealer to sell a kit car if you want to be paid about half the value you would get from a classified add sale. They run their business on buy low, sell high due to the limited throughput. Have you put it on locostbuilders, turnover of cars on there seems to be pretty good and you will get an honest opinion on whether your asking price is about right.

Thanks for that. Will give Locost builders a try, but I expect they would be the same, probably expecting around the 3 grand mark which is not what I'm wanting. Tried a dealer and the response was that I wouldn't get much for it, and that having no screen (it has an aero screen) would make it hard to sell, as well as being a Q plate. Correct me if I don't understand, but what's the problem with a Q plate?.

There is nothing wrong with a Q plate. Trouble is Q plate cars do seem to attract less money as a lot of people seem to think it means the car has been written off in the past or had some other problem.

Locost builders, ebay, PH classifieds are the best places.

As for price have a look in those places for what similar cars have sold for or advertised for to get an idea if what you want for it is realistic.
