Looking to possibly buy a KTM Xbow, however I'm really struggling to get a sensible insurance quote. I've tried, Competition Car Insurance, Ade Flux, Footman James etc and I'm struggling to get much. Mainstream companies aren't interested, and it's proving hard to find people who will even consider me. One factor which I know will go against me is age - I'm 23.

However, I can get insured on a similarly priced Vantage/R8 for sub £800. Caterhams, 911's and TVRS don't seem bad. Can anyone recommend someone who may be worth a try?

Keen to find someone, but I'm exhausting options at present. I've phoned 6 insurers and 3 brokers to little or no joy. Any that have came back want a CAT 1 immobilizer fitted and alarm - not a show stopper, but the price they want is still steep. At the present rate, I'll have to find an alternative car, as I'm not willing to pay well over the 1k mark for a car which is hardly going to be used, kept in a locked garage in a good area, with added security.

Any help is much appreciated,

Andy

High quotes are probably due to it being a carbon composite monocoque chassis, expensive to repair and a little known quantity for most insurers.

Not as much as you may think! Around £400 more than my VX220.
