I am only 17 years ol (at time of sending this) and I was wondering how easy/hard it would be to build a very simple 600cc racing car for hill-climbs and sprints etc..
Also, any ideas as to LSD's and driveshaft combos and cost?
Im struggling with that at the mo... :-(
I ahev estimated nearly £2000 for chassis, wishbones, front steering (hubs, calipers, discs etc..) wheels/tyres, LSD, steering wheel, basically a rolling chassis, except from bodywork, and engine and drivetrain.
Any ideas??
thanks...

I'm building an R1 powered locost and I reckon total cost will be about 5k and I'm building my own chassis. TBH I think you'll be better off getting a car engine than a 600cc bike (assuming that's what you intend using) or better still if light weight if you goal then an older 1000cc bike engine such as a cbr1000.

If you want to build an all out racing car with a small ish bike engine, you could do worse than looking at what the teams in Formula Student get up to.

TBH, you took the idea anyways.
I have been doing tons of research of FASE cars and specs etc, and as i am a smalish (5.6ft) im trying to make the car as small as possible.
I am trying to get a Kart chassis sized chassis bult up (with the protection as well)
I'm trying to keep costs down, and all I am trying to do is build a race car, with miminal performance (sounds stupid but I know what i mean :-))
I am also trying to make it road legal too - to get the most of bulding it.
