Advice PLEASE

I'm trying to sell my tiger R6 (on pg 3 of classifieds section - the bright green one). It's a BEAUTIFUL car and only 1 year old + factory built.
The problem is that I live in Aberdeen in the north of Scotland.

At the moment it's in which kit, PH, and the tiger forum, but very few bites.
where else should I advertise it??
I need the garage space!!!

cheers
ALAN

I would try putting it on findit.co.uk because that's somewhere that I quite frequently visit. You could also try ebay but I think you're right that you're problem is the location. I know that I wouldn't bid for a car without seeing it first, so on ebay I would have to make 2 trips (unless I offered cash for it). Still, ebay might get a few people asking questions about it. Then perhaps you could come to some sort of arrangement for a deal. You'd also get an idea of how much other people think it's worth, but don't forget to set a reserve if you don't want it going for peanuts! Well, you can't bid in peanuts but you know what I mean.

Have you phoned Jim at Tiger to see what he can do to help you shift it?

Don't let the location put you off too much.I live down in Somerset and I sold my Westfield VX 2.0 16v to someone in Aberdeen. He and his partner flew down to Bristol and stayyed overnight in a local hotel,my missus picked them up in the morning ,a test drive and a handshake later and he was driving it back to Aberdeen before 11am.People will travel if the car is well advertised and priced well and its something they really want.Good luck and keep trying!

Sorry to hijack your thread , but I also have my Tiger for sale......

www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=31709&s=130

Don't worry about it , not many people are in the market for our type of car, this time of year with all the snow around, wait until April/May, providing the car is sensibly priced it should sell OK.

Personally I would try "Kit car".......

Good luck....

Alan

I agree with Scorcher, distance is no object if the car and price are right - your car looks right but the price was out of my budget or I would have been interested.

Last weekend I drove from Aberdeen to Bristol to meet a guy who brought his car (Sylva Striker) up from Plymouth, it was good and I bought it.

Here a a couple of sites I was looking at, I found my car on Fast Road and Track

Many thanks, guys.

The car should be in "kit car" by now and I'll get onto the other places you've recomended. Needless to say if you hear of anyone who's interested...

cheers

Alan. Two things stop a car from selling, no sorry, three. Price, price and a poorly written advert. Correct me if I am wrong. But you have had the car for sale for a while now? Your advert looks fine with clear pictures and a good description. That would suggest to me that it is priced too high. People will travel for the right car at the right money. Try finding other R6's and see what money they are fetching. I would think people are happy to pay a premium over a Super 6, the same a a Super 6 will fetch more than a Cat E1. So have a look at Super 6 prices and pitch it 1k to 1.5k over their prices.

Good luck and happy hunting.

It's a good point, paul.

I was kind of counting on being haggled down to about £9500 from £10500

Tiger Super 6s can go for £6K, but for a recently built one with a more modern 16v engine they seem to be going for about £8K - £8500.

I'm going to drop the price down to £9500 and advertise in all the places you've all mentioned above. that'll hopefully tempt someone to come and see it. once they see it they'll certainly not be able to resist!

cheers
