So I got this delivered this morning but not 100% what it is.

Front engined, mounts for rover v8, axle, prop and brakes etc already there Ford items I believe.

Thought it had potential so picked it up cheap and wondering what to do with it now.

Any good forums for these?

AFAIK it's a Seraph as it's front engined. The Bonito is rear engine based on a Beetle floorpan and running gear. I saw yours on ebay and reckon you got a bargain. Lots of work to finish but still cheap. There's a couple of forums for Bonito's, one in Germany and one in Holland but nothing in the UK.

Here's my Bonito

and a Seraph

Ah, fantastic. Thanks for clearing that up.

Black looks good. Liking your Bonito, spotted it in "let's see ya cars" but couldn't msg you directly.

I did fancy making it mid engined but a lot of work there.

Am i right it's a capri windscreen needed? Only glass missing.

Not sure about a Seraph but my Bonito uses a 60's Ford Taunus front and mk3 Escort rear both of which were hard to find. I ended up getting the front from Pilkington which was suprisingly reasonable it didn't fit though and needed a bit of fettling.

Excalibur was also similar (derivative perhaps) with Cortina running gear, IIRC.

Cheers folks. I've taken it down a whole other avenue now though.

Windscreen and pretty much everything from lights to dash etc is now Mr2. Not simply gone down a rebody route, it's a bit more extreme.

Plan is to keep the monocoque cell incorporating roll cage and bonito centre tub, then have space framed clam shells front and rear.

Should get some progress on it this spring, starting with the roll cage and removing more Mr2 parts.

The wheelbase of Mr2 and Bonito is exactly the same. Plan was to just steal uprights etc for the old chassis but when i saw it was the same, made more sense to retain what was there and re-engineer.

The Audi 4.2 should give it the go i'm after.

The Mr2 windscreen is also a fair bit longer and has a better rake so should balance out the looks of the overall car.
