Anyone know if Vince's factory is near the coast in Sri Lanka? Any news as to whether he and others are okay?

Unfortunateley I do not Know which part of Sri Lanka the Python crew is based. But having been to Western Sri-Lanka many years ago just to the south of Columbo down to Hikkaduwa I know what an exsposed part of the coast this is. I understand the epicenter of the quake that has caused the high tidal floodings lies far to the East of the Island and can only imagine the devastation to those areas to be worse than to the West of the island. I visited the Tangerine Beach hotel (West) where looting has been reported. Many thousands of people live and visit these low land coastal areas.
Thinking of Vince, his workfoce, their families, visitors and all the friendly people of Sri Lanka.
Ian.

Factory just outside Columbo in the industrial sector, I am hoping that they were at the plantation in the hills . Either way they are in the thick of things where they are .I am hoping they, the workers & families are all safe .

Thats good news, I was not sure where they are located or how near the coast they were. I have been looking at the news and it must of been terrifying.

Excellent news. Really glad to hear that. Lets just hope now that the factory survived the onslaught.

I have just recieved this from Floyd , This I think explains how it has affected everyone. He hasnt asked me to post it, but I think it is well worth sharing , It makes us all realise how fortunate we are.

"Vince and I are fine, but it has affected our staff. The shop foreman lost two cousins that were on the train. Only a 4 year old is left of the entire family. A 25-foot wave hit the train. He gave out 1800 packets of food Sunday night. They looked at over 1000 bodies yesterday trying to find his cousins. We also drove down the coast last night and saw where hundreds of shanty houses were whipped out. All that was left was a small slab with water lines and other parts. They government had just recently taken equipment down the road and cleared away what was left of hundreds of houses.
We just heard one of Vince's employees that had to go abroad when his father died, to make more money to support his family - lost his whole family! Mother and sisters are all missing and presumed dead.

This will get worse before it gets better."
