Anyone driven a US Cobra (from the UK) how do they compare to the best that the UK is comming up with at the moment? I am tempted to bring over a LHD small block Chevy for use in Italy but don't want to be stuck with a beast that has lots of grunt but can't get round corners.
Ideas ????

Why worry?
An original Cobra has always been a beast that has lots of grunt but can't get round corners. No change there then.

They do seem to have that reputation - even though the 'Cobra Ferrari Wars' programme showed one quite happily passing a Vette through a bend by making a tighter turn and going up the inside. And it was always on the tighter, twistier circuits that they slaughtered the Ferraris...

As for US Cobra kits, never driven one personally but have heard some of them are bloody awful with very heavy steering and dodgy handling. However, there are so many different ones on the market it's impossible to generalise.

Doubt you'll find any that'll handle as well as a GD or Magnum though.

Try Google-ing for the U.S. "Kit Car" magazine, search for "Run n Gun". Look through some of the results. An Ultima shows up there as doing very well with several Cobras doing better- in different classes though.

Contact PH'er jschwartz (on the Ultima forum) for how poorly U.S. Cobras are built and handle.

Also, try "Factory 5" and "Superperformance" searches.

Or, contact Carroll. Why fool around with a fake?

You may be suprised. Or not.
