Hi guys, I haven't posted anything in a while so you may not remember me. I am building a mid-engine street/track car based on Toyota mechanicals. It weighs just under 600Kg without bodywork.

I've been working on the body plug for the past 6 months and am finally to a point where I can stop slathering on the filler and start sanding and filling low spots... I hope to be spraying hi-fill primer coats by next weekend! And then it's all the way to 1,200 grit... I know that I have a loooong way to go to make it perfect before I lay up the molds, but it's a start eh?

Looking very nice!

What inspired the design?

You mentioned Toyota mechanicals, is that one donor? Which car?

Hi,

Looking very nice mate!

I see you did the body design in CAD - have you done the dash in CAD too?

Either way, how easy do you think it would be to make it RHD?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks

No CAD design for the dash yet. It's in my head to make a simple one with a BIG tach in the middle and all the other guages in an arc around it.

There is no reason it couldn't be made RHD since there is nothing to get in the way of the column up front. Rack is from a Toyota MR2 and I know those came in RHD for the UK market.

Power is currently Toyota MR2 4AGE and performance will be similar to the typical 4AGE powered Locost. Total weight will be around 650Kg. But.... I already have my thoughts on twin BEC or some type of more powerful drivetrain. The engine bay is very roomy and I see no reason it wouldn't take a v8 in transverse form or v6 with a UN1 transaxle. The 4AGE is in there now out of cost reasons. (Free) And to validate proof of concept. It runs great BTW. Check out the videos on my website.
