Does anybody have one of these, care to share experiences especially comparison to any other track cars you may have owned?

I would dearly like one, but I'm currently over the moon with my Superlight R so not sure if it would be worth the extra cost, and, much as I like the noise of bike engines, is a 252bhp bike engine really going to last?

An SR3 was at the Brands Hatch trackday yesterday (8th July). I beleive that the owner also has, or has ownened, an R500.
Andrew, I see that you are also on the ET forum. Try Richard Ince, (look up his cars on the members search)

Check out this month's EVO magazine - they've got a review of track day cars (including the radical) and it comes with a CD-ROM so you can watch them having fun. (no fair )

Few of them (including Richard Ince) coming to the BookaTrack.com Silverstone GP day on the 31st.

Scare the crap out of me - as quick as an R500 is over a tin-top, well, the SR3 is meant to be that quick over an R500 =:-o

Graeme.

Could I just conform something. the radical is a track car not a track day car. IIRC the radical is not road legal ie won't pass SVA and cannot be driven on the queens highway so therefore is a track car. A track day car is a road legal car which is good to go onto the track with eg caterham, westfield etc.

Have I missed something, can you build a radical for the road?

As far as I am aware, Radical offer a "Road Pack" that makes the car road legal (just!) and will pass the MOT.

I've just popped over to their website and found the following little snippet:

www.radicalmotorsport.com/new_range/new_range.htm

quote:
The all-new two-seater SR3 is equally at home as an extreme road car, the ultimate track day car or a highly competitive sports racing car.

As with its highly successful Clubsport and Prosport predecessors, two versions of the SR3 chassis are available.

The SR3 Tracksport utilises the Clubsport's Powertec Kawasaki motor and gearbox, and as the name implies, is focussed on the road-legal track day market.

So there you go.

Thanks guys, thought I was getting there. Just looked on the site and the SVA kit cost is TBA so I guess no-one has done it yet.

The SR3 in Evo had number plates on it so I assume they've done at least one

Don't see the point though, would be too soft and too high if made for the road.....be a laugh driving round in that thing for a day though.

Good point, I met a cobra kit bod once at a show and I commented that his car looked very low and he showed me that his suspension was adjustable so for MOT he was legal height, but rest of time back to ground hugging. I wonder if the SR3 could do a similar kit.
