RE: Stoneleigh Show (Plymouth Prowler Replica)
Discussion
I visited the fiero factory where the kit is made and after seeing there car and the original prowler they where putting through the sva for a customer i have to say the comments made so far are very wrong, the cars are basicaly the same to look at although the head lamps are an aquired taste, but the original prowler had been fitted with the same lamps as it seems that they are there to comply with the sva regs, i am sure they would have been removed after the test.
i think the biggest problem with the way the car looks on this site is fault of the bad angle of the photograph if you want to pass judjment see some pics at www.euro427.co.uk.

Got to agree with the lizard guy, its a good loooking car, not to everyones taste sure, but its certainly different from all the usual 7 clones with lousy equipment, these things even have leccy windows!!
As for performance, they are built around Scorpios, so you get real brakes and V6 power,up to the cossy version!!
I think some of the contributors ought to get their facts straight before they condemn things!!
Just my 2 penn'orth!! lol

PetrolTed, why do hate kitcars so ? The Prowler rep is 'virtually' identical externally-there are detail changes to keep the lawyers away but I _strongly_ suspect that the moulds were taken from a real one. According to Kit Car mag. the lights are there for SVA compliance, the originals are Lhd biased. However, the manufacturers have left pop out panels that just happen allow for the fitment of original lights (which are available through Mopar). Just a coincidence of course...
The car is a Fiero Factory product>> www.fierofactory.com <<, but doesn't seem to be on their site yet. I would imagine it uses the same chassis setup as their "Venom," which would allow for a V8 to be fitted if required (some distance from a Cortina PetrolT?).
Not all replicas are from the plastic portaloo school of design and it seems a little harsh to rush to judge this one.
The Prowler has just been facelifted, but it's $55k and, anyway, they've all been sold.
And no, I don't drive a Fake Snake or a plastic Porker. I used to have a 7 rep though...

I've been looking SERIOUSLY at the Prowler replica V2 from fierofactory for some time now and I am happy that the dimensions are the same as the original and with it being based on the last model Granada running gear, including the V6 engine etc. I'm also happy that it will perform better than the metal bodied original from the US. At around 15 grand fully loaded I think I'm going to have one of these next year, in black with leather interior, climate control and a factory hard-top for the winter (I may even have a professional flame job done and hang out at the local hot-rod cruise). The repro lights and indicators will have to go though, no arguments there! ;-)
