In the early 90's ISTR a Aussie or Kiwi guy starting a company to build a Jag replica of a car that was either a one-off or possibly a copy of a race car. It was to be an accurate copy, down to gauges and screws and the factory supposedly signed off on the production, as long as there was no Jaguar badging on the car. Does anyone have information on this car, or is my memory off?

There was some talk about Australian Jag XJ-220 and XJ-13 replicas on this forum a while back. These are the only Aussie Jag replicas I have heard of. Try this link:

Not the 220, must have been the -13. But it was _supposed_ to be a perfect replica, ally panels, rivets and such to match the original and V.pricey.... Must find my old (US) "Kit Car" magazines....

Thanks,

Dave

Or at least they did - and damn good ones too - but think Proteus stopped trading some time back and production rights were sold on. Don't know if anyone's making them at the moment.

Went at auction earlier this year for, I believe, £48,000
