Westie spray job
Discussion
I was quoted £1500 + parts + VAT to get mine resprayed by a top company (mines a Marlin Roadster). Another company said £500.
The first company said they would remove all the panels, tidy up the scratches and scores, rub it down, spray it with multiple coats & rubbing down inbetween and put it all back together with new liners and new bolts/nuts.
The other company said he'd loosen the running boards and give it a quick rub down and spray it.
Suffice to say neither company is doing it and I'm taking it to a third place to get induvidual bits done.

You could get new factory panels for that price.
If you have time/inclination why don't you rub it down and prep it yourself then it shouldn't cost more than £500-750.
I think someone mentioned in reply to another question that you should join the WSCC, it's full of people who have had all these problems and they are more likely to point you in the right direction for tried and trusted services.
With any kit car it's woth investing time and effort to make friends with owners, you'll always need some small part finding or a bit of advice and you'll get to meet people who "understand"

Hi thanks for all the advice.I`ve sent off for my membership of the Westfield owners club.On working it out its cheaper to buy a new bonnet, nose cone and sweeping arches and stick them on then it is to have the whole car re-sprayed.The idea was to run the car on a budget and enjoy it, so i` don`t fancy upsetting the wife and spending to much cash!!!
How much for a paint job!!!! Got my Westie painted at the 'leisure' of the bodyshop including repairing the cracked rear wing (nice gatepost in the dark) for £350 inc paint. You will have to get it etch primed, then primer filled then top coat.See if you can find somewhere who can do it for cash and when theyre not busy.I had to wait 3 weeks for mine,so did it in the depths of winter,so no driving loss there.
