I'm not worried. Personally I would have bought what I have, even if the version with doors were available at the time.
As for the similarities between the 5exi and the Strathcarron:
I did a little research about this. I have been informed (from someone close to Strathcarron) that Mark @ Marlin bought the rights to use the body shape for the 5exi.
The Strath' uses it's own headlights, uses a Triumph bike engine and is a monocoque construction.

I can't believe they used the rubber mounts with the Rover logo in a Marlin 5Exi, fair enough the drive-train and engine, but surely not the rubber dash bits.
Having said that, what a crap dash, I would have thought that the demonstrator would have a better internal than that
