Been looking at these.. recieved all the gruff through the post, the toyota engine seems very nice indeed.. anyone had/got any experience of them as they seem quite reasonably priced?

I asked about these a little while back, my thread is here -

Its still top of my list for when the time comes.

The 4AGE engine looks like it will put the price up a bit beyond what I can afford though, I thinking of a carb'ed Zetec.

Just been down to see Mel at Raw, have a look around and go for a passenger ride

Very nice indeed.. so much so that I think the chequebook is going to have to get a dust off!

The Striker is a fantastic choice if you're looking for a 7-esque car.

I personally have a Fury, which is essentially a wider Striker with a full body. The handling is sublime (just look at the 750MC championship for proof of the pudding) and I've only heard good things about Mel's setup. I've spoken to him a few times myself and he's always been friendly and helpful.

As far as the 4AGE is concerned, it seems like quite a nice option...based on the original BDA racing engine...in essence a step between a car and motorbike engine as it revs to about 8k. Don't be put off by the lack of displacement (1600), those things can push out some awesome power and are nice and light.

Whatever happens, Mel is your man for both...I have no link to him, but just like his attitude...

Cheers,

Jon.

Nice car I reckon, seen a few at the 750mc meets, particularly at the recent Silverstone and they look good, seem well sorted and fast as f
They are very delicate cars that take a good driver to get the best from them but should be more fun than a barrel of monkeys

On the down side, I've seen a few pranged and they didn't hold up well
