Any one know how "willy the kit is doing"

The BMW/Cobra project is forced to the back burner for the following reasons.
The E36 based chassis was about ready to leave the jig when the landlord of our workshop came to me with some urgent news in the first week of July: The building needs to be cleared by the first of August. It's going to be pulled down and mid September I could move back in to a complete new workshop, so he told me. It’s now nearly end September and works seems to be just about half way. All this time I camped aside my house in an improvised little workshop and three 20’ containers. Now I decide not to go back to the new workshop. The end of the works will take another couple of weeks anyway and we made our improvised workshop near my home more spacious and winter proof. Next year we take care of it properly.
I underrated the moving badly, it cost me a lot of money and time so we have to recover by taking welcoming extra orders for Sumo’s and Speedsters kits plus a few orders to build cars.
By the end of October we are settled in our definite workshop and will gradually continue the project.
Please keep coming back to this forum and watch Den’s Kitcar Magazine and Totalkitcar for further news early next year.
Kind Regards,
Willy

The BMW/Cobra project, The E36 based chassis
Willy,
I decided to look for a E36 donor vehicle, found a few in scrappers but the prices seem high, one asked for over 1000 for just the rear end!
For full vehicles (runners) the prices were bordering on stupid,do you have a supply of donors or can you suggest somewhere.
Thanks
Hi Fast Jenn,
Over one thousand pounds for just only the rear end! Is it gold plated or so?
When we started the project two years ago I bought a 320i runner for 2500 euros. Nowadays prices for a good runner, but with some little body damage, are about 1500 euros (£1000).
It’s a fact that Ford’s are cheaper (and always will), but in a few years there will be no more Ford’s RDW left, while BMW still continue producing RWD cars up to date. That’s why we opt for the Beemer.
I guess it’s best to look for an accident damaged E36. I saw one yesterday in our street. I’m going to see the owner tomorrow to ask what his plans are with it. I can offer him all the needed body panels from my stripped donors or I can make him an offer in the region of 750 euros for the whole car, but not much more for sure.
Regards,
Willy
Thanks Willy
Must be the greedy breakers in my area near London then?
I noticed that in Steve's Totalkitcar almanac the add said for your car that it was to be E34 based on 5 series running gear
Is this a mistake in the mag then?
Have found that 5 series are cheaper than 3's around here.

Hi Fast Jenn,
Steve got it wrong, it's E36 not E34. Over here prices are about the same. The production of the E34 started 2 years earlier, I geuss that explaines for a part that they are cheaper.
I also looked at the E34 before we started the project, but the E36 was in a technical view much more suitable.

Willy

The E36 has only the 2.5 engines as the biggest in the range and the M3 as top of the range, (M3 silly money) will this be good to put a big V8 on E36 running gear????is it up to the job????
And there are no V8 bm engines in the E36?
Think I might have to look again at the R V Dynamics Python!!(it looked very nice at donington)
as it uses E34 and big V8's are fine and donors are cheap, I can even use E32 750 or 850 V12's(V8 big block ford my choice have a friend in to USA motors)
Think that will be better for a Fast Jenn! (Don’t want to be known as sort of quick jenn)
Thanks jenn
